An incident in Weldon Monday afternoon caused a stir amongst residents living in the small community, but ended quietly, according to RCMP.

Sgt. Rob King told paNOW that officers were dispatched to a house in the community and one person would later be arrested.

"There was a significant members' response to a residence in Weldon, it was a situation that was resolved peacefully and no one was injured," he said.

King said the RCMP would not be releasing any further details about the incident in order to protect the people involved.

paNOW received several calls Monday from people expressing alarm over seeing as many as seven or eight RCMP vehicles converge on a house in Weldon. The community is located about 60 kilometres southeast of Prince Albert.
