Sixth day of play underway at national junior curling championship

Jan 24, 2019 | 10:00 AM

The sixth day of competition is underway at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Games are being played at both the Art Hauser Centre and the Prince Albert Golf and Curling Club.

The tournament is currently in the 16th draw and teams broke off into two different pools of play. On one side are teams still in the running for the championship. In the other bracket, teams who have not qualified for championship play are competing for seeding and pool placement in next year’s tournament.

After the seeding games are finished, members from those teams will be split up and put into a mixed doubles competition set to start on the weekend.

The championship semifinals for both men and women are set to go for Saturday with the national championship games set for Sunday afternoon.
